Ron Chabot is a healthcare consultant, patient advocate & futurist in Boston for people suffering from Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD). He has an extensive career as an executive leading medical device and healthcare IT companies, particularly in the areas of neuroscience, pain management, regenerative medicine, tele-medicine & artificial intelligence. Working with pioneers in the areas of epilepsy surgery, cortical stimulation & functional brain mapping, Ron has co-developed and commercialized devices that have helped advance these fields
In 2007, Ron’s life was derailed by Opioid & substance abuse addiction and it took him the better part of a decade to regain his life back. Understanding the human brain’s abilities to re-wire itself under the most adverse events & conditions which can lead toward cognitive, behavioral and biologically improvements; Ron is now developing new evidence-based therapies that will be broadly disseminated using advanced technology. In a pandemic where 175 people a day die of opioid overdoes just in the US, he hopes to have his firm’s offering of digitally-assisted patient engagement and educational tools be made accessible for the tens or hundreds of millions suffering, most receiving no treatment, or inadequate treatment.
