Biography
James Barber qualified with MB BS from University College London in 1999. He has been working in Neurosurgery since 2005, having been a Consultant in The Royal London Hospital for the past 2 years. His main areas of practice are: Neurotrauma (specifically the management of patients with prolonged post-traumatic disorders of consciousness), Neuromodulation (Epilepsy and Affective Disorder), Complex CSF-Flow Disorders and Craniofacial Reconstruction. He has published the first case series in the U.K. of the implantation of a wireless intracranial pressure monitor and is setting up a trial to look at the potential benefits of VNS in minimally conscious subjects.

Dr KARANIKAS Evangelos, is a military psychiatrist servicing in 424 General Military Hospital of Thessaloniki, Greece. Head of the Research and Education Department of the Psychiatric Clinic. Scientific Associate of 2nd University Psychiatric Department, Aristotle University Thessaloniki, Greece. Research Fellow of Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Center, Australia and Lecturer in Rural Medical School, Toowoomba, University of Queensland, Australia.

Biography
Ron Chabot is a healthcare consultant, patient advocate & futurist in Boston for people suffering from Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD). He has an extensive career as an executive leading medical device and healthcare IT companies, particularly in the areas of neuroscience, pain management, regenerative medicine, tele-medicine & artificial intelligence. Working with pioneers in the areas of epilepsy surgery, cortical stimulation & functional brain mapping, Ron has co-developed and commercialized devices that have helped advance these fields In 2007, Ron’s life was derailed by Opioid & substance abuse addiction and it took him the better part of a decade to regain his life back. Understanding the human brain’s abilities to re-wire itself under the most adverse events & conditions which can lead toward cognitive, behavioral and biologically improvements; Ron is now developing new evidence-based therapies that will be broadly disseminated using advanced technology. In a pandemic where 175 people a day die of opioid overdoes just in the US, he hopes to have his firm’s offering of digitally-assisted patient engagement and educational tools be made accessible for the tens or hundreds of millions suffering, most receiving no treatment, or inadequate treatment.
